Itinerary
Stellenbosch
We start the morning in the Stellenbosch Winelands, just 30 minutes from Cape Town, offering majestic scenery that is entirely different from the Cape Peninsula. You will discover the various grape varieties grown in the region.
Stellenbosch is a small yet lively town, home to a renowned university and a wide range of activities, including wine cellar tours and tastings, museums, galleries, and even strawberry picking. You will also have the opportunity to purchase wines to take home and enjoy the region’s delightful vintages after your visit.
(1 hour 45 minutes)
Franschhoek
We then head to Franschhoek—a wine lover’s dream destination—also known as “The French Corner.” This historic Huguenot village, with its French-named streets and estates, will make you feel as though you’ve stepped into France from another era.
You’ll be enchanted by the town’s charm and tranquil atmosphere while enjoying tastings of local delicacies, cheeses, and world-class wines. We are proud to offer a unique ride on the Franschhoek Wine Tram, journeying through beautiful vineyards, breathtaking scenery, and award-winning wine farms.
Bonus: Our guides are fluent in English, Afrikaans, French, and several African languages.

Drakenstein Prison
Drakenstein Prison, formerly known as Victor Verster Prison, is located between Franschhoek and Paarl. It is famous for being the place where Nelson Mandela spent the final fourteen months of his imprisonment for campaigning against apartheid, before walking out a free man in February 1990.
Here, you’ll see a recently unveiled, larger-than-life statue of Nelson Mandela raising his fist—not in anger, but as a powerful symbol of defiance and freedom—often accompanied by the slogan “Amandla Awethu” (isiZulu for “Power to the People”).
Paarl
The tour continues with a scenic drive on the outskirts of Paarl, offering stunning views of the iconic Paarl Mountain and its surroundings. Your guide will share insights into the town’s rich history, including its early Dutch settlement in the 17th century.
Paarl is one of the oldest towns in South Africa and is renowned for its wine estates and striking landscapes. The name “Paarl” means “pearl” in Dutch, inspired by the massive granite rock formations that shimmer like pearls in the sunlight. You’ll also learn about Paarl’s role during the apartheid era, including its significance in resistance movements. The drive includes a photo stop at Victor Verster Prison.
